Marathon Preparation
With just under 2 weeks to go until the 2025 London marathon many runners are making their last minute preparations for the big day.
Here are a few tips that you may find helpful.
To maximize your marathon performance, focus on hydration, nutrition, sleep, and mental preparation in the days leading up to the race.
Ensure you’re well-hydrated by drinking plenty of fluids, especially in the last couple of days.
Prioritize a high-carbohydrate diet, particularly in the days leading up to the race, to fuel your muscles. Get adequate sleep, aiming for 7-8 hours a night.
Mentally prepare by visualizing the race, practicing positive self-talk, and managing pre-race nerves.
Have a plan for getting to the race, including transportation, parking, and getting to the starting line.
Don’t start too fast. Focus on a consistent pace throughout the race, especially in the early miles.
